Highway to Hell

On a lone dark and desolate highway, a woman and her female friend were driving home late at night from a party. It was was late and very dark outside so they were listening to the radio to stay awake. The driver heard of a serial killer from a friend at the party, but he had supposedly been arrested. Her dashboard 'dinged" and she jumped, her gas was low. She pulled into the next gas station.

An old man, who walked with a limp and had burns on his arm, came out to pump the girls' gas. The driver gave him her credit card and he went inside to set it all up. While the old man was inside, the passenger went into the station to use the bathroom. The old man came back out and asked the driver to come in for a minute because there was a problem with her card. The passenger came back from the bathroom. The driver went into the station with the old man to see what was wrong with the card. When she went in, the old man grabbed onto her arm to tell her something. She didn't want to hear what he had to say because he was grabbing her and she thought of the serial killer she had heard about earlier. She ran out of the gas station, got into her car, and tore off. Afterwards, she told the passenger about what had happened after she had cooled down. A little while later, when she was checking her mirrors she noticed something. There was a dark figure of a man with a knife. He slashed the driver's throat and before he could get the passenger, she bailed out of the car. The car went out of control and crashed into a tree along the road. The passenger started to run, she fell and then had trouble getting back up for her arm was broken. She finally got up and was able to run back to the station to where the old man was to get help. They called the police, and when they arrived and she showed them where the accident was, the driver and the man were both gone.

The old man told of how he tried to tell the driver that he had seen the man crouched down behind the seats, but instead he only scared her when he had touched her arm. The killer has never been seen again and they were never able to obtain any evidence against him or to identify him. And the driver's body has never been found.
