The old woman

In the yellow and blue house at the corner of the block there lived an old woman. She is the nicest old lady I have ever met and everyone loves her. She has a huge mango tree in her yard and she always gives the ripe mangoes away to the children of the neighborhood. Even though everyone knows and loves her, there was something very suspicious about her. There was a rumor that she was a “fire-rass”. I “fire-rass” is someone who sucks others blood in the night. They would say a mantra and their skin would peel off, it was then put in a coconut shell until she gets back and put it on. After her skin comes off she turns into a ball of fire. This woman would choose her victims by giving them something in the day. For example, a mango or another fruit, by giving the fruit she is inviting herself into the house of the victim. She cannot enter the house unless she invites herself. After sucking the blood if she likes it, she would continue to suck the blood and that sometimes leads to the death of the victim. If she does not like the blood, she vomits it right in the victims’ room. The only way to catch her is to put rice in front of the door of the victim and upon leaving she has to count every grain. Also hot sauce is poured into her coconut shell to torture her because it burns her skin.
That signifies that they were bitten by the “fire-rass”. Even though people suspect the old lady to be a “fire-rass” there is very slim chances in the neighborhood lately many people would wake up with a huge red mark on their neck and of catching her. People suspected that the “fire-rass” was her but they did not have any proof .
